This project explores the interdependencies of resident and city between the private configurations of habitation and the public realm of their collective environment. Mews, lane, passage, turning, ginnel, street, square, yard and court are all examples of parts of our «interior» cities which can once engender a feeling of privacy and personal belonging whilst at the same time become part of a wider urban strategy. The site is located in the center of London, near Hoxton square. The analyses of the site and the urban planning was developed in groups of three students, followed by an individual project. Focusing on a spacial element of the earlier urban work, every student was asked to take one part, scale up and develop an intimate city structure that operates both at a private and public level.
